Can anyone explain to me what this drawing is trying to tell me here? I can't figure out if the stitch with the arrow is supposed to be part of the 2nd row or the 3rd....while were at it maybe it would be good to know into which stitch specifically the 2 to eitherside of the arrowed one go (in row 2 - the gap its pointing to doesn't do it for me).
i *think* that it wants you to slip stitch into the prior row.
in row 2 you are supposed to slip into the top stitch [one chain] of the 2 tr [or whatever that is] together from row 1
in row 3 you are supposed to slip into the space created between those chain 3 areas.
does that make sense?

As I understand it you have to single crochet into to prior row. I think the stitches are made around the prior row chain, and not into a specific prior stitch. Does that make sense?
There“s a list over crochet symbols here:

Good luck :-)
